Powerful, female icons are at the center of my pop-art, western-chic-inspired artwork. My work is a reflection of my roots—growing up in Fort Worth, Texas, in the early 2000s. It was a city steeped in the Y2K aesthetic, while I could simultaneously watch someone ride a horse across a busy intersection. A similar cultural duality has followed me to Austin, Texas, where I currently live and work. Being in constant admiration of the powerful women in my life, it only makes sense to place them at the center of my art. My colorful portraits depict confident and defiant women, inspired by vintage style, pop art, and western aesthetics. I’ve recently included mosaics into my artwork creating mixed media portraits, reflecting the grit and glamour duality that I find myself endlessly inspired by. My work is collected by art lovers who embrace nostalgia, modern feminism, and a bold pop of color.
