Part of my motivation for making landscapes is to share the fragile beauty I find in nature and the emotions it summons. Each of us has our own particular notions about what is beautiful and these viewpoints also tend to evolve and change over time. By framing these images in particular ways, I hope to bring aspects of the world’s beauty to the viewer’s attention and if these perspectives resonate, then perhaps they will help some to be more attuned to it. When we seek solace in the natural landscape, we become more apt to protect it.
