I find photography a fascinating profession because of its endless variety. This skill has provided me with opportunities which have changed my life. I now consider myself a community organizer as well as a photographer.
I have been the director of THAT since its inception 19 years ago. This weekend art show provides a market for local artists but also an experiential for the public.
Since 1994 I have lived part of each year in Mexico. My photographs of their traditions led me to create my first booK: Tears from the Crown of Thorns.
In 1999 I became involved with a rural women’s craft cooperative:
The Rug Hook Project. Again photography was the introduction to this talented group of women. They had no marketing knowledge and with my 35 years as an independent artist I was the perfect match for assisting the group.
In 2015 my second book: Rich Roots, celebrates the life in rural Mexico.
