My name is Lara Popkess, and I am the artist behind Lara Faye Creations. Originally from Texas and now based in Seattle, Washington, I create work inspired by the ecosystems, fungi, forests, and natural cycles of the Pacific Northwest and Southwest alike. After spending over a decade working for a nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I recently transitioned into pursuing art and freelance design full-time. My work explores themes of death, rebirth, transformation, and the interconnected intelligence of the natural world through vibrant color and symbolism. I primarily work with watercolor, gouache, pen, and ethically sourced animal bones, using organic forms and reclaimed materials to highlight the beauty within decay and renewal. Through my art, I aim to encourage curiosity, reflection, and a deeper connection to nature and the cycles that sustain it.
