I take my inspiration from the natural world. My porcelain pieces are functional-bowls, jars and vases – wheel thrown, sometimes carved, and embellished with thin clay appliques reflecting botanical themes. Frequently, garden pollinators or other garden creatures are depicted. Glazes are applied in layers, resulting in effects that sometimes are like watercolors or the light that comes through stained glass.
